The Lithuanian Catholic Federation “Ateitis” is a youth organization of younger schoolchildren, high-school and university students as well as seniors who are already the graduates. The Federation which celebrates its Centenary this year was established in 1910 in the University of Leuven, Belgium by the group of Lithuanian Catholic Students. In its 100 years history the Federation “Ateitis” was a cradle of Lithuanian Catholic intellectual ideology, its members were in the key positions of state administration, art and scientific research elites.

After the World War II organization continued its activities in the United States and was reestablished in Lithuania in 1989.

Our membership includes around 3000 members from all over the country, and it is the biggest youth organization in Lithuania. The aim of it today is the integral development of young people enabling them to be effective apostles of Christ and creative persons capable to changing society according to Christian values. The values of Catholicism, family and community life, integral society and national tradition are the core of our activities.

Nowadays we have even more challenges than 100 years ago, and our principles are integrated strategy against destructive trends in the society, against nihilism, relativism and materialism. We follow the motto “OMNIA INSTAURARE IN CRISTO”, and believe, that it is a way for development of our society.
